For the Media Server Deduplication pool option (MSDP or a.k.a. MSDO), front end licenses is required for the amount of data a customer wants to store.
However, there are no messages, meters or warnings with regard to the current status of the amount of data stored compared to what is licensed.
The NetBackup 5020 Appliance supports Fibre Channel connections for data traffic between storage pools and from a NetBackup media server. However, the NetBackup media server has to be running on a NetBackup 5200 or 5220 Appliance for this to work and be supported.
