Hi, some of our ressources in the cluster configuration are not critical. If this ressource fails, we do not get a monitoring message from VOM. VOM only monitores faulted servicegroups, but in this case, the servicegroup is partial online. Could you please implement a monitoring rule for faulted ressources?   thanks!   regards Björn

One of our customers is dealing with an issue with an ASL/APM update.  The version of VRTSaslapm (5.1.100.000) installed with SF 5.1SP1 does not support the Hitachi VSP array; this support came with VRTSaslapm 5.1.100.300.  Since the SF 5.1SP1 install this customer has installed: RP1P1HF3.    The following is from our customer: How would we go about expressing our desire to have the now bundled ASL updated along with the other patches.. It made sense when we had to find ...

Hi, Currently i dont see VOM doing any alert consolidation and reporting based on events. like when a system lost a path due to some hardware failure it reports every disk lost one path rather one single alert which should say 'host' got one failed path. And also when we had fabric failure all the hosts and its each disk thrown alerts which was in thousands.rather i would have preferred to get single alert on frabric. And this can expand to any events which got parent event and child ...

If /var/tmp is mounted with noexec option then the sort data collector creates an alomost empty veritas explorer file. If /var/tmp is mounted with noexec option then installrp fails to fully install a rolling patch but reports the status as succeeded.   The work-around is: ./sortdc -vxexplorer -tmppath=/root/sortdc-tmp ./installrp -tmppath=/root/installrp-tmp   What we would like to seen in a future versions: This option/usage is should be listed in the output of "./sortdc ...

Hello, Environment overview : Production uses vxvm filesystem.  SAN does a BCV clone on Prod DG and import cloned devices on Backup Media Server for backup purpose. Prod uses 5.1SP1RP2 which is having maximum dg version as 160.  Media servers uses 5.1RP2 which is having maximum dg version as 150. Issue 1 : New DG is created on Prod and by default dg version is 160.  When tried to import clone devices for this DG on Media Server, it failed to import as 5.1RP2 does not support ...

Hi,   we want to have some custom reports, where we can select servicegroups, ressources, Types, State, Volumes, ... as we want. e.g. a report of all offline ressources of type application or all frozen Servicegroups. Or is there a way to get the information of the reports from GUI like "All ressoruces"  via CLI (vomadm), so that we can get this inforamtion wih wrapper-scripts?   thanks!   Regards Björn

Early versions of our cluster had our own OeBS monitor scripts. Scripts sometimes worked not properly, that's why the customer wants to have a solution that would fully supported by vendor, have no problems with upgrade and track the resource status correctly.   At the moment we see that the agents supplied by Symantec not working very well.   The monitoring procedure has two levels: 1st monitor level and 2nd monitor level. The 1st monitor level works ...
