HI Guys , Need a solution we placed our client 40 Symantec PGP Universal Whole disk Encryption Licenses. Next step they want Symantec PGP Universal Server at end. they have two sites one Main Branch and Second is Factory site in between there is no connectivity not yet. Now the licenses divided in two sites 20 in Main Branch and 20 Factory site. We placed server at main branch. I'll manage Main branch Client but how to manage and Deploy the package at Factory site? In terms of recovery how to recover the client?

In this query your quick ansswer is highly appreciated..

Thanks in Advance.

First, you need to deploy

First, you need to deploy Universal.

Then access universa webl inteface.

Consumers tab, groups tab, Download client button

So you will need to install the client this way so its managed.

You can deploy the same file to several computers, if same SO and architecture.

Universal server cannot

Universal server cannot deploy client. You can download client from Universal.

That file can be deployed (manually or using some software) among those computers that meet the requirements (same OS, processor architecture x64 or x32, and same policy)

Connection Dependencies

Hi,

To manage machines at the factory site the following must all be true:

1.) Your PGP Universal Server is in a public facing location at the primary site

2.) The PGP client package you have created from the universal server has been created with the externally facing IP address of the server

3.) The factory site machines have some form of internet connection (doesn't have to be via VPN or similar)

If the above are all true then the clients at the factory site would be able to communicate back to the Universal Server over the internet and would be able to grab policies and be recovered that way.

Does that make sense?
