enSymantec Management Agent Install Linux
http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-management-agent-install-linux

We are about to deploy about 2000 laptops running Fedora 12. I would like to include the Management agent and the Symantec Endpoint Agent in the image itself. Is this possible without causing any conflicts?

I have tried looking for these answers but haven't really gotten a clear response with details on how to do it if it can be done.

Thanks,

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-error-after-restoring-other-server

Hello

After I follow the steps for restoring on other server (virtual machine): restore SEP Manager, restore the server certificate and restore client communications with a database backup, when I try to log on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager I receive the message : "You cannot log on the console because the server is not synchronized with database. Upgrade the server, and the log on to the console".

I tried to reconfigure server with Management Server Configuration Wizard, but i receive same error. Before to restore the database, i could to log on SEP Manager.

Please help me with a advise.

Thank you.

We have several tasks to update BIOS settings for various product ranges which use a shared schedule that I have created. Looking at the task results, it seems that only one of the tasks is being executed. Is it possible to run several BIOS settings tasks at the same time? Or do we need to create separate shared sechedules for this? The latter would seem to defeat the object of shared schedules!

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/dell-client-update-packages-catalog-import-custom-location

Hi Everybody,

I have some restrictions in place with a client using DCM that prevent us from using the "Import catalog and inventory collector from: Dell site" option for downloading the catalogues. So I have gone to the default location, downloaded the catalogPC.cab file and copied it to a location I can get to on the DMC. However, when selecting the "Custom Location" option, the rest of the text mentions that you need to "specify the local path, UNC or URL where the catalogPC.cab and InvColPC_(version here).exe are located. I can find the location where I have placed the catalogPC.cab no problem, but have no idea where I can find the InvColPC_(version here).exe. The XML file contained in the .cab file makes reference to the InvColPC_1.1.0.53.exe (which is the specific version required for this .cab at a guess!) I have dug around on the Dell FTP site as well as run a search for *InvColPC* on my Altiris installation directory and I am none the wiser. Hey, I've even refernced the manuals and on-line help and can't find any references to this .exe. Can anybody help with finding this elusive .exe!?

Thanks in advance,

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/dmc-network-discovery-range-does-not-work

For some reason I cannot discover my network using IP ranges. I am trying to discover my network on a per DC basis. I have created import files (csv) using the format listed below. I can import the files fine into the Network Discovery Wizard and it shows the lists fine, but when I actually run the discovery, progress is very slow, and eventually it restarts, never completing. This happens repeatedly, and I never get a full discovery.

Example: IpAddrRange,Include,192.168.21.0,192.168.21.255,255.255.255.0

Some of the ranges in my lists are rather large, some are not. I even tried importing single smaller range, like the one listed above (not the actual IPs), and I get the same result.

My Connection profile is using HTTP, ICMP, SNMP and WMI. I have tried using only ICMP and SNMP, and I get the same results.

I've tried using ARP, but it did work, I think because I have one community for my network devices and one for my hosts, and unfortunately DMC does not allow the use of multiple communities.

I can import and discover a single IP list perfectly fine, one DC I discovered had 3000+ IP's on the list and it worked fine.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!
