http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-besr-2010-vmware-windows-7-sysprep

After trying unsuccessfully for a couple of weekends, I managed to create a new Windows 7 virtual machine using BESR 2010 on the same physical Windows 7 Ultimate machine.

I'm using VMWARE Workstation 7.

The recovery ran OK but when I start the virtual machine I get an error telling me:

Sysprep cannot run on a computer that has been upgraded to a new version of windows. You can only run sysprep on a custom (clean) install of windows.

(One more reason not to upgrade, but tht's another story)

Once you go beyond the error the new virtual machine starts and seems to run withouit problems.

My question is "How can I keep Sysprep from trying to run everytime I start this virtual machine"?

What can I do to elimate this nagging issue?

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/altiris-hardware-independent-image-bsod-new-sata-laptops

Hello

Our hardware-independent image is constantly rebooting when starting up (0x07B BSOD). It is an HP ProBook 6545b AMD laptop. We use model-specific sysprep files that copy SATA drivers in the SysprepMassStorage section. The files are correctly defined, and the image works if the BIOS is changed from AHCI to IDE, however this as a proposed fix is NOT an option. We have another similar model laptop (HP 6735b) that works with the hardware-independent image and uses simliar AHCI drivers. However, copying these drivers and settings to the new laptop after pushing the image does not work. The image is both Intel and AMD platform compatible.

Any ideas?

Thanks

we have ghost solution suite 11.5.1.2266 and just recently we ghosted 2 gateway tablets but they failed on sid change and after a reboot they started duplicating themselves in the ghost console and so far the only way I have found to keep this from happening is to uninstall ghost client on the 2 affected tablets which really isn't a good fix.

we have since reghosted them manually and ran a sid change but that hasn't helped either, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to configure Replication on two single node clusters which are geographically seperated but I am failed to do so. As per the installation document, I should have an Application service group and replciation service group inorder to work. But when I try to create Application service group I get an error " "No shared drives discovered. Possibly there are no volumes configured on the shared disks or they are reserved by a service group in the current configuration. Cannot continue Error V-16-13-2041". This is a new configuration and as I mentioned we do not have shared storage it’s all internal storage in the cluster. Please confirm whether VVR with VCS works on internal storage.

Thanks
